The BPR (Biocidal Products Regulation)’s Article 95 defines how Biocidal Active Substances are acquired for lawfully permitted use. From 2021, biocidal products are controlled in Great Britain under the GB BPR (Biocidal Products Regulation) by which all biocide product suppliers must comply.
What are the EU and GB regulations for biocides?
BPR
The BPR (Biocidal Products Regulation) requires that articles only be treated with biocidal products containing active substances that have been approved in the EU. This also applies to imported articles. We abide by EU/528/2012.
GB BPR
Most BPR rules are included in the GB version, but the two regulations now operate independently. To put a biocidal product on the market, formulators must be able to demonstrate a clear auditable purchase/supply trail from a GB Article 95 active substance supplier.
We have ISO 9001 accreditation and offer full material traceability back to the mine from which the ore was originally extracted. Every supply is accompanied by a certificate of conformance and a certificate of chemical analysis to ensure that our customers can rely on the quality of the metal purchased.
Silver
We only supply 99.9% pure silver (triple nine silver). Typical forms include:

- 10ppm colloidal suspension electrolyzed in 18.2MOhm deionized water (1l containers – 1000l IBCs)

We purchase our silver from Metalor, one of the world’s largest and most respected suppliers of precious metals. Metalor and HeiQ (Tarn-Pure) both have ISO 9001 accreditation. Metalor’s technical professionals support our customers across Europe. They provide input to help formulate silver forms to optimize manufacturing processes and can supply from sites based in France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK. All deliveries effected by Metalor are supplied through fully insured secure courier services.
Copper
We offer grade CW004a, 99.90% pure copper, characterized as “High Conductivity Oxygen Free” copper which is ideal for use as an anode. It has been selected as many deployments of copper as a biocide require electrolysis to release Cu⁺⁺ ions to attack harmful gram-negative pathogens. If needed, we provide certificates from the supplier that state the chemical purity and further mechanical data of the copper. We supply copper typically as:
